northern federation of ethnic senior citizens clubs

giving a stronger voice to ethnic senior citizens

The Northern Federation of Ethnic Senior Citizens Clubs (Federation in Short) is a community empowerment platform to promote and advocate for the importance of positive ageing strategies and social connectedness by celebrating diversity and recognising how the same issues could affect all communities.

The Federation represents over 30 clubs from Darebin, Whittlesea, Banyule and Moreland. Club representatives meet monthly to share ideas, find solutions to issues affecting the ageing population and encourage agencies and services to be more culturally aware. The group also serves as a pathway for government and peak bodies to reach and consult with a large number of people from CALD communities.

The Federation is coordinated by Spectrum and offers activities that include training, assistance in preparing funding applications and administrative support in meeting funding requirements, resources and information on relevant activities and programs to the member clubs.

Federation membership

The annual membership for a Club to be part of the Federation is $10. For more information, contact Spectrum on 1300 735 653 or by email connect@spectrumvic.org.au

The coordinator position for the Northern Federation of Ethnic Senior Citizens Clubs is funded by the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and the grant to run the sessions is provided by the Office of Multicultural Seniors (Department of Families, Fairness and Housing).
