Spectrum continues humanitarian work
HSP Contract announcement by Sen. Hon Zed Seselja, Assistant Minister for Social Services and Multicultural Affairs.
Spectrum is pleased to announce that, working in collaboration with AMES Australia, it has been appointed to provide the Commonwealth Government’s Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) in the North Eastern Region of Metropolitan Melbourne and looks forward to continuing this important work supporting the settlement of refugees.
The contract was awarded to AMES Australia and its partner organisations (including Spectrum) after a competitive tender process conducted by the Department of Social Services.
Spectrum has extensive experience in providing support to people newly arrived to Australia, including refugees, migrants and asylum seekers.
We plan to work collaboratively with local government as well as with community groups and other agencies in the important work of ensuring the best settlement outcomes for our clients.
Our priority and focus will be to support our clients to achieve economic and social participation and to use our strengths-based practices to work with them to build their new lives in Australia.
From experience, we know that with the right support, refugees can make extraordinary contributions and become outstanding members of society.
The Humanitarian Settlement Program provides a range of support services for vulnerable people forced to flee their homes and who have been accepted by Australia as humanitarian visa entrants.
