To Christchurch.

This afternoon we began to hear the tragic news from our neighbours in New Zealand of an incident of extreme violence at two mosques in Christchurch.  Reports suggest that these were attacks against the Muslim community and people expressing their faith in peace.

On behalf of the Spectrum team I wish to express our sympathy for the victims, their families, their community and the broader Christchurch community.

We hold all of the New Zealand community, and those of the Islamic faith,  in our thoughts at this time.

As we begin Cultural Diversity Week in our own patch of the world, we are reminded of the importance of our work in shaping a more inclusive world where violence motivated by hatred based on ethnic or religious grounds is not tolerated.
