Our Commitments

Child Safety

Spectrum is a Child Safe Organisation.

We are committed to the safety, protection and wellbeing of all children and young people accessing our services. We aim to create a child safe and child friendly environment where all children are respected, valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Spectrum takes a zero tolerance approach to child abuse.

Quality

Ensuring our services are a high standard of quality is an ongoing journey.

For our Settlement and Family Services, our Practice Framework supports teams to identify the professional skills and capabilities we prioritise to deliver high quality supports to people who use our services. Using a shared practice framework across our programs makes sure that our clients receive consistent and clear services.

For our Aged and Disability Services, we hold accreditation in:

  • The Aged Care Quality Standards – which are made up of eight individual Standards, including Consumer dignity and choice, Ongoing assessment and planning with consumers, Personal care and clinical care, Services and supports for daily living, Organisation’s service environment, Feedback and complaints, Human resources, and Organisational governance.
  • NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators Version 4

Family Violence

We are committed to supporting survivors of family violence to access the support and services they need. All staff have received basic training in the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) and our critical service staff have had advanced level training.

We are continuing to align our policies, procedures, and tools to the MARAM Framework.

Lived Experience

Many of Spectrum’s staff and board have lived experience of the migrant/refugee journey – and our work is the better for it. This firsthand experience supports our staff to deliver high quality services and outcomes for our clients.

Lived experience plays a vital role in building social capital with our clients and community; ensuring trust, enabling collaboration and enabling us to advocate with unique insight.

Our Lived Experience Advisory Committee, made up of members of our staff, demonstrates our commitment to amplifying the voices of those directly impacted by migration and displacement.

Privacy

Spectrum is committed to protecting the privacy of its clients, staff, and stakeholders. We treat all personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Victorian Health Records Act, and other legislations.

We have policies, processes, and trained staff who are very diligent to ensure privacy is protected.
