In the beginning

“I moved to Australia from Argentina on a temporary Skilled Visa and had made it my home.

But my temporary visa was expiring. I didn’t have enough points to apply for permanent residency.

Then, whilst I was on my temporary visa, the PR process changed. I didn’t think I had any options.”

Expensive isn’t always better

“When looking for advice, I first went to two other Migration Agents, then I went to Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre.

I chose them because they were more affordable, and my Spectrum Migration Agent’s advice made more sense to me during the consultation.

It was obvious to me that they were focused on the outcome (that I could remain in Australia permanently and legally) – not just taking my money.”

[This is important. Some migration companies may suggest unethical methods or overstaying illegally – this can result in your Permanent Residency being rejected, or even legal action.]

This meant I could do this whilst looking at options, and a legal pathway to residency to stay aligned with my professional ambitions.

Then my Migration Agent actually was able to advise me on a new PR process that he knew about. It was not widely advertised, or easy to understand.

Without the help of Spectrum, I would not have understood the nuances of this specific PR pathway, and that it gave me an option to stay in Australia.”
