Skills First Reconnect

How do we help?

The Skills First Reconnect Program helps people who have challenges stopping them from study, training or work options.

It provides support to explore further study and/or employment pathways and includes financial assistance to help participants pay for education related expenses.

Participants can get support for 18 months from the day they join the program.

All participants start with a four-week program to help them get ready for study or work. This includes:

  • Career Inspiration – Learn about yourself, different jobs, and study options.
  • Pathways to Education – Find out how you learn best, set study goals, and explore education options.
  • Employability Skills – Learn about your work rights, workplace expectations, resume writing, job interviews, and applying for jobs online.
  • Industry Site Visits – Visit workplaces and TAFEs, meet staff, and see different jobs in action.
  • Wellbeing Workshops – Learn how to balance work and life, manage stress, and budget money.

This program helps you gain confidence, learn new skills, and take the next step towards study, training or work.
