Specialised and Intensive Services

How we can help

Spectrum’s experienced and compassionate team can work with you for up to six months. We can help you access specialised services for refugees, and manage things like:

  • Domestic and family violence
  • Disability
  • Financial hardship
  • Relationship or family breakdown
  • Health or medical needs that are severe, critical, long term or that you cannot manage
  • Mental health issues
  • Homelessness or housing instability
  • Child and youth welfare concerns
  • Social isolation
  • Legal issues

Who can use these services?

To access Spectrum’s Specialised and Intensive Services, you must have arrived in Australia within the last five years and hold one of the following Visa types:

Refugee and humanitarian visas:

  • Refugee visas (subclass 200, 201, 203 and 204)
  • Global Special Humanitarian visa (subclass 202)
  • Protection visa (subclass 866)
  • Temporary Protection visa (subclass 785)
  • Temporary Humanitarian Stay visa (subclass 449)
  • Temporary Humanitarian Concern visa (subclass 786)
  • Safe Haven Enterprise visa (subclass 790)

Other accepted visa types:

  • Partner (Migrant) visa (subclass 100)
  • Child visa (subclass 101)
  • Orphan Relative visa (subclass 117)
  • Partner (Provisional) visa (subclass 309)
  • Partner (Temporary) visa (subclass 820)
  • Partner (Permanent) visa (subclass 801)
  • Resolution of Status (Temporary) visa (subclass 850)
  • Resolution of Status visa (subclass 851)

You must also:

  • Have a low level of English skills
  • Come from a refugee-like background
  • Not be an Australian citizen

 

How can I access these services?

There are two ways of getting support through Spectrum’s Specialised and Intensive Services program. They are:

 

  • Option 2: Someone else refers you. We can accept referrals from other organisations such as settlement service providers, health and wellbeing practitioners, community groups, local organisations, teachers, school counsellors, and police officers.
