All are welcome

At Spectrum, we strive to create a safe and welcoming space for all.

We support migrants and refugees, through a range of culturally responsive services across migration and settlement, family relationships and parenting, social and economic inclusion, aged care, disability, and carer support.

We also know that there are many people among our communities who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer and asexual – and we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming service for those from the LGBTIQ+ community.

Here’s what we have been doing to make our service inclusive for the LGBTIQ+ community:

  • We are a member of the Pride in the North Collaborative (PIN),  a consortium of communities and a range of health and community organisations in the outer north of Melbourne who show their support and advance their work in supporting members of the LGBTIQ+ communities.
  • We have partnered with Many Coloured Sky, an organisation that supports and empowers those at the margins and intersections of LGBTIQA+ communities to participate fully and equally.
  • Our staff have received training to build their capacity to work effectively and with LGBTIQA+ community members
  • We were proud to participate in the 2025 Midsumma Pride March along with our Pride in the North friends.

We will continue to find ways to improve our practice in working with queer migrants and refugees.
