Empowering futures for young people from refugee backgrounds

Fun, safe, inspiring, and informative – the YTS camp is a unique opportunity for young people from refugee backgrounds to experience new activities and build social connections while exploring employment pathways and options.

Over three days and two nights, YTS camp participants will enjoy fun activities such as:

  • Archery
  • Bushwalking
  • Canoeing
  • Raft building, and more!

They will also build on their job-seeking skills, through interactive information sessions such as:

  • Employment pathways and options
  • Workplace culture in Australia, and
  • Interview skills.

When: Monday 22 January to Wednesday 24 January 2024
Where: Cave Hill Creek, an award-winning accommodation and outdoor recreation venue in a spectacular lake and bush setting at the foot of Mt Cole near Beaufort, two hours west of Melbourne.
Cost: All accommodation, travel, food, and activities are FREE!

Who is the YTS camp for?

Recently arrived refugees (aged 18 – 25 years) who have participated in Spectrum’s Youth Transitions Support (YTS) program in the last six months are invited to join the YTS Camp.
