settlement support groups

a chance for newly arrived migrants to meet and socialise.

Our settlement support groups meet regularly to socialise, practise conversational English and get information about topics such as health, education, public transport, housing and financial education.

The groups are run by experienced and bilingual Spectrum staff, who invite guest speakers and organise activities that reflect the groups’ culture and interests.

Who the support groups are for

Settlement support group services are for people who have been in Australia for five years or less, are permanent residents who came to Australia on Humanitarian/Refugee visas or as Family Stream migrants, and have low levels of English proficiency.
